The SMR Technical Working Group

The HER Forum Technical Working Group (TWG) was set up in 2004 to look at the technical aspects of the work of the Forum. This includes topics such as: the implementation of national data standards, developing interoperability between datasets, and looking at technical developments within the Heritage Sector and industry in general.

The TWG consists of members of the SMR / HER community and representatives from Historic Environment Scotland and the National Trust for Scotland.

Since 2014, the HER Forum TWG is leading Workstream 2 of the SHED (Scotland’s Historic Environment Data) Strategy, the Data and Standards Working Group.
